Mindy Bell grew up in rural Minnesota, and attended Carleton College (B.A. Biology), and then theUniversity of Washington (M.A.T. BiologyTeaching). She has taught,mostlyscience, in seven schools in five states over the course of her 30-year teaching career.Along with her husband and daughter, she moved to Flagstaff in 1998. She first worked at the Center for Science Teaching and Learning at NAU, then as a high school science teacher at Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy, then as a part-time instructor of Biology at NAU, and now as the Flagstaff STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Coordinator. Her principle role is to connect STEM-related businesses with K-12 schools in Flagstaff to increase STEM literacy.
