Richard Bowen serves Northern Arizona University as an Associate Vice President in the Office of the President. His focus is advancing the Universities efforts in economic development, sustainability, and bio-medical initiatives. Mr. Bowen is currently serving on the executive board that is creating the Phoenix Downtown Bio-Medical campus; an initiative of the three state universities to construct a modern large scale integrated medical education, research, clinical trial, and treatment campus. Also, Mr. Bowen isserving as the President and CEO of the Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona (ECoNA) which is the regional economic development organization representing a large majority of the Flagstaff area private and public entities with membership from large employers and businesses, small employers and businesses, educational institutions, city government, county government, social service non- profits, utility companies, financial institutions and banks, real estate/developer firms, chamber of commerce, and private and public foundations. ECoNA’s mission is to create jobs and prosperity for northern Arizona.
