Art Babbott is a member of the Coconino County Board of Supervisors and a small business owner who runs the Flagstaff Community Markets, a regional farmers market.
Art has been actively involved in both the private and public sectors in Northern Arizona since his arrival in Flagstaff in 1997. Art was a managing partner in the group which renovated and reopened Flagstaff’s historic Orpheum Theater and managed Pine Mountain Amphitheater at Ft Tuthill County Park. For twelve years he has operated the Flagstaff Community Markets, a regional farmers market whose mission is to support and expand the number of independently owned and operated small farms in our area. He also has worked in the green building and renewable energy fields.
On the public sector side, he served for 6 years on the Flagstaff City Council, was Council representative to the Water Commission, the Northern Arizona Council of Governments, the Flagstaff Metropolitan Planning Organization, and was co-chair of the Coconino Plateau Water Advisory Council. He has also served on the Coconino County Planning and Zoning Commission.
Art has a BA in Political Science from Amherst College and a MA in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware. He lives in Flagstaff with his wife Heather and daughter Lila.
