Ways you can Reduce Waste in the Verde River Valley
APRIL 24, 2012
What an amazing Earth Weekend! The Value the Verde team collaborated with SEDI (Sustainable Economic Development Initiative) and Sustainable Arizona to participate in local Earth Day celebrations promoting reusable water bottles throughout northern Arizona.
The Cliff Castle Casino hosted their first celebration and lots of community members purchased the reusable water bottles to replace the single use plastic water bottles that tend to line our streets and highways. The City of Flagstaff also hosted a great event and even more community members supported the Verde Valley project by sporting their reusable water bottles throughout the Earth day event. Finally, Sedona ended the weekend with the showing of the movie Avatar and hosted local vendors with amazing sustainable initiatives. The reusable water bottles were a big hit, and many put the bottles to use immediately filling them at the water fountain before the show. All in all Earth Day celebrations were a great way to discuss the Value the Verde initiative with community members and answer questions about our work.
Even a small effort like filling up a reusable water bottle can make a big difference and conserve water and reduce waste in your community.
We now offer local businesses that have signed the Verde Compact aluminum (BPA-free) water bottles featuring the Value the Verde branded logo. To encourage their use, we provide the products at cost or slightly below cost. Businesses can customize the bottles with their own logos. The purpose of these products is to create water conservation brand awareness among the visitors and the businesses.
